The 100th episode. YAY! or BOO?
Smallville is now 100 episodes old. Wow, what a momentous occasion! I can't tell you how excited I was when it finally aired, after having watched the previews for two weeks prior. As it turns out, the only significant event happened at the end of the show.
The death of Jonathan Kent was expected, of course. Many people thought it would be someone else, but the smart ones knew. Will he have parts in future episodes? Who knows, and I don't want to know. I'm one of those people who don't like to have his pleasant surprises spoiled. Like with Star Wars, I avoid any spoiler info like the plague!
What I don't like about the episode is the way they teased us with the whole - Clark tells Lana his secret then they get engaged- but wait, let's go back in time and erase the whole 1st half of the show- thing. What the hell?! Talk about wasted excitement and emotional drama. I mean, I did think that Clark kind of rushed such a huge and scarey revelation and that Lana's reaction was a bit too easy to swallow. Of course, I realized later in the show why the writers did such a poor job with the enlightenment at the show's beginning. If you're confused, I'm saying that since things end up the way they were before, there was no reason to have a proper, drawn out, dramatic "Clark reveals his secret to Lana sequence." I mean, she asked only one question! So hopefully, in the future, Lana does find out and it's even better than when Chloe found out. Cuz that show was great, and the early 5th season ones in which Clark is cool about it.
